What Are You Buying?

1. Powerful Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

With 115 Air Watts of suction power, the Dyson V8 is not the most powerful cordless vacuum around (the Dyson V15 has more than double the power at 240 Air Watts).

But it’s one of the most powerful you’ll find at this price point. It’s a great buy if you are looking for a powerful cordless vacuum that’s not too expensive.

2. Vacuums Hard Floors and Carpeting

The Dyson V8 is powerful enough to clean all kinds of flooring. On hard floors, it employs carbon fibre filaments to suck up dust while the powerful 110,000 rpm suction easily picks up all kinds of debris.

On carpets and rugs, stiff nylon bristles on the Motorbar cleaner head loosen dirt deep in the fibers. If you need extra power on thick or shaggy carpets, temporarily turn on boost mode to get a deeper clean.

3. Great for Homes With Pets

Many vacuum cleaners, cordless or corded, struggle with pet hair. They brushes or bristles easily get tangled and it’s a pain to detangle them.

The Dyson V8 has no such problem. Inside the Motorbar cleaner head are hair removal vanes that constantly detangle the bristles as they rotate. So pet hair won’t slow down your vacuuming and you don’t have to waste time doing any detangling.

4. Versatile

The Dyson V8 can handle any vacuuming need in your home thanks to the multiple attachments included.

The main Motorbar head is perfect for general cleaning on the floor or up high on the walls. Thanks to its low profile, you can easily clean deep under furniture.

Switch to the combination tool to pick up dust and pet hair on furniture, upholstery and other surfaces in your home or car. The combination tool uses softer nylon bristles to protect delicate surfaces and includes a lint picker to lift pet hair.

The V8 also comes with a crevice tool for cleaning corners, in between cushions and other hard to reach areas.

When using the crevice or combination tool, you can transform the Dyson V8 into a handheld vacuum cleaner for easier maneuverability.

5. 5-Stage Filtration

A vacuum cleaner is no good if it releases all the dust and dirt it picks up right back into the air. To prevent this, the Dyson V8 uses a sealed 5-stage filtration system that captures fine particles as small as 0.3 microns.

This includes fine dust, pet dander and pollen. This ensures your indoor air remains clean, particularly if you or someone else in your home suffers from allergies or other respiratory problems.

6. Charging Wall Mount

The Dyson V8 comes with a wall dock that makes storing and recharging the vacuum cleaner a breeze. Instead of constantly plugging it in when you are done, simply attach it to the wall dock and it automatically recharges the battery.

The wall dock also provides a convenient place to store the vacuum cleaner out of the way.

7. Decent Battery Life

According to Dyson, the V8 has a battery life of 40 minutes in normal mode. In real life, customers have found it lasts between 25-40 minutes. That’s enough to vacuum multiple rooms or the entire house, depending on how big your home is.

In boost mode, however, the battery lasts 10 minutes or less. Only use it when you need to vacuum stubborn dirt.

How Easy Is It To Use?

Most customers say the Dyson V8 is super easy to use. Here’s why:

  • It’s lightweight (2.5kg) and ergonomically designed. This makes it easy to carry and move around. You’ll also find it easy to lift it when dusting walls. Even older kids can easily handle it.
  • It is easy and quick to switch between multiple attachments.
  • The no-touch bin is awesome. It makes emptying debris easy and hygienic.
  • The wall dock makes storage a breeze and it ensures the V8 is always ready for use since you don’t have to worry about forgetting to recharge it.

What Accessories Are Included?

The package includes the Dyson V8 cordless vacuum cleaner, the main Motorbar head, a combination tool, a crevice tool, the wall mount and a charger that connects to the wall dock.

Dyson has plenty of additional accessories if you want to make your V8 even more versatile. These include a crevice tool with a light for cleaning dark spaces, a scratch free dusting brush, an awkward gap tool and others.

Anything Else You Should Know?

Here are a few other things about the Dyson V8 I haven’t mentioned yet.

  • Comes with a 2-year warranty.
  • Takes 5 hours to fully recharge.
