Vax S7 is a great option if you’re looking for something inexpensive and cheerful that can tackle virtually all cleaning jobs in, around, and out of the house. And besides saving you a lot of time and effort, you won’t find better features or performance at that price range.
Hands up if you’re sick of breaking your back using dirty old mops, and then having to wash the stinky thing after you’re done? Absolute torture, am I right? You can imagine how thrilled I was when I got the Vax S7 Total Home Master Multifunction Steam Mop for Christmas (damn right I gave it to myself).
Not only does this 2 in 1 cleaner refresh your carpets and make your hardwood floors gleam, but it also transforms into a handheld with a plethora of tools. It’s definitely a versatile tool for home cleaning, and if it does half of what it claims to do, then this Vax S7 review will save you a ton of time and hassle.

What Are You Buying?
The S7 Total Home Steam Mop is a revolutionary new innovation from Vax that is light yet highly effective on grease, dirt, and grime. Being both a standard steam mop as well as a handheld cleaner, Vax really has created a whole new dimension to total home cleaning.
This multifunctional steam mop lives up to its name by starting off with floors and carpets and moving on to kitchen counters, taps, tiles, windows, mirrors and pretty much any other surface you want cleaned.
I especially enjoyed the relatively fast heating time that gets the steam rolling in just 20 seconds. What’s more, the steam lasts for an entire 15 minutes at full capacity. This means that I can spot a stain (mostly after creating it) and get it cleared out less than half a minute later.
And once you factor in the steam engage button, you can control how much steam you release so you don’t unnecessarily saturate your floors and carpets with water.
Now, let’s get to the reason why the Vax S7 Total Home Master Multifunction Steam Mop is currently the best seller in Britain. It is without question one of the most affordable steam mops with unrivalled value for money. But as always, cheaper devices tend to act up once in a while.
Personally, I’ve not had any problems with my S7 steam mop. However, there have been reports of the machine ceasing functionality abruptly. I’ll let you in on why that is later on, but first; just how easy is it to use the S7 mop from Vax?
How Easy Is It To Use?
As always, we start at the beginning. Like most powered devices, the Vax S7 Total Home Master Multifunction Steam Mop will require a little assembly.
Now, out of the box, the S7 is easy enough to assemble without much fuss. Took me just a couple of minutes with one hand tied to a cold one. Compared to some of the larger steam mops I checked out the Vax S7 Home Mop could have done a better job with their reservoir.
The 500 ml water tank is definitely easy to fill, but it barely makes it to 15 minutes of continuous steaming. I give it 12 minutes at best. But I guess that’s just part of what makes the S7 so light and portable.
This bad boy glides effortlessly across hard surfaces with just a fraction of the effort you would normally use for traditional mops. And thanks to the cleverly shaped mop head, the Vax S7 allows you to get to those hard to reach areas, clean into corners, shift quickly around obstacles and enjoy your work while you’re at it.

Anything Else You Should Know?
As promised, I’d like to take this chance to investigate the cause of early breakage and malfunction. The Vax S7 Total Home Master Steam Mop incorporates a cheap heating element which while extremely effective; it’s also prone to slipping out of place and breaking down. This is the leading cause of heating malfunction in the S7.
So, is the S7 steam mop from Vax worth your time and money? Well, let’s see – it’s affordable, powerful, light, convenient and easy to use, so what do you think?
I’d say it’s a great option if you’re looking for something inexpensive and cheerful that can tackle virtually all cleaning jobs in, around, and out of the house. And besides saving you a lot of time and effort, you won’t find better features or performance among steam mops at that price range.
