However, care must be taken with this type of flooring, to ensure that it stays looking as good as the day you laid it. Luckily, this is pretty easy too!<\/p>\n<p>Cleaning bamboo flooring is pretty simple. Just be gentle with it, and it should reward you by staying at its best. Keep it clean, but don\u2019t go too mad &#8211; no harsh, abrasive cleaners for this sensitive floor. Keep it gentle and you should have no problems whatsoever.<\/p>\n<h2>What is bamboo flooring<\/h2>\n<p>Bamboo flooring is just that &#8211; a type of flooring made from bamboo. The clue is in the name! It is a relatively hard floor, but also one that can be sensitive and needs a bit of care to keep it at its best. It makes for a great flooring material as it is more resistant to water damage than most woods, but you do need to be vigilant with it and clear up any spills as soon as they happen, so that you don\u2019t run the risk of warping or damaging your fancy bamboo floor. Ordinary hoovers can be a bit too brutish and can end up causing your bamboo floor to have knocks and dents, so you should only vacuum it if you have a hoover with a bamboo setting.<\/p>\n<h2>Everyday maintenance<\/h2>\n<p>Here are a few tips for cleaning bamboo flooring when there hasn\u2019t been an unusual spill or accident:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A simple, soft bristled brush is ideal for cleaning up every day dirt, like crumbs, dust, pet hair and other general bits and pieces. It is recommended that you sweep up your bamboo floor every day, because bits of dirt, dust and grit can damage the surface of the floor over time.<\/li>\n<li>You can also use a vacuum cleaner to remove dropped things, dust and hairs &#8211; just be aware that you should use one with a specialist bamboo fitting, as a standard vacuum can damage the floor.
